I’ve got my Eye on You

These cheetahs had just brought down a young topi, and were happily feeding on it – save for the occasional possesive stares at one another. Cheetahs need to feed very quickly as stronger carnivores such as lions and hyenas often chase them off their kills. They are built for speed, not strength. It is not easy to photograph predators at a kill, the gore is not particularly artistic – and it puts off many people. But it is an essential part of life in the bush so I feel compelled to document it.
