Today is World Lion Day.  Wild lions are declining at an alarming rate due to all sorts of threats: habitat destruction, poaching, trophy hunting, conflicts with humans etc.  Despite of what some people might think, the threat of losing them forever during our lifetime is very real – the statistics are shocking.  Everyone can do something no matter how small.  I recommend visiting www.worldlionday.com to get ideas how to help these iconic cats.  And I also encourage you to spread the word using social media.  Awareness is the first step so don’t let this day pass by without at least sharing the message.
