Mom’s fair game when you don’t have any siblings to play with!  I really enjoyed photographing this dynamic cheetah duo during my stay at the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Kenya’s Masai Mara in June 2014.  I love photographing animals interacting with each other, especially when the animals in question are big cats and Amani and her cub offered me plenty of such opportunities in between their lengthy naps!

While cheetahs give birth to several cubs only a few usually survive, and many times they lose all their young.  Mostly it’s due to encounters with lions or hyenas.  Fingers crossed that this only remaining cub will make it to adulthood, I got quite attached to it!
