The sweetest little Lion cub

The sweetest little Lion cub

It was our last morning in the Masai Mara so we decided to look for the Rekero pride as we knew their whereabouts over the past few days.  When we arrived to their usual location we first found the two pride males – obviously they had been in a scuffle as they had freshly scratched faces.  Did they fight each other or was there something more sinister going on?  My first thought was for the adorable little cubs, were they safe?  We searched and searched for them.  I was so relieved when we found them alive and well hiding in some thick bushes.  Though they are the kings on the savannah the little cubs face more peril than one would imagine.

I think that perhaps the cubs might have been a little frightened by the happenings of the previous night as they stubbornly kept themselves hidden in the bushes.  I did manage to grab a few photos when this one broke cover for a few seconds.
