Leopard Stare

Leopard Stare

During last year’s stay at the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in the Masai Mara we were closely following the activities of a leopard called Fig. On second thoughts the word “activities” might be an overstatement considering she was spending her days comatose in trees or in bushes! One time during the late afternoon after many hours of observing her sleep comfortably up a tree in a less than photogenic spot she finally woke up and traversed some open terrain in a quest to find some food. She stopped for a few moments to look around, then changed direction. Our guides had positioned us well – a little bit too well one might say. Moments after this shot was taken she was right under our vehicle!
